Bio: 

Dr. David Mendlovic was born in 1962 in Jerusalem, Israel. He received a B.Sc. degree from Tel-Aviv University, Israel, in 1987; and a direct Ph.D. from the same University, in 1991; all in Electrical Engineering. During his graduate studies he was a Research and Teaching Assistant. In 1991-1992 he was at the University of Erlangen-Nurnberg, Bavaria as a MINERVA Postdoctoral Fellow. He joined Tel-Aviv University in 1992, where he is presently a Senior Lecturer of Electrical Engineering. During the summers of recent years he visited several laboratories (Carlos Ferreira, Valencia, Spain; Adolf Lohmann, Erlangen, Germany) where he gave several invited lectures and did some scientific work. He also presented his activities at various international meetings. He is the author of more than 130 refereed journal articles and numerous conference presentations. His academic interests include optical information processing, signal and image processing, diffractive optics, holography, temporal optics, optoelectronic and optically interconnected systems.
